Massive Blaze Erupts on Richmond Road

About 70 firefighters and ten fire engines battled a huge fire on Richmond Road tonight. A three-storey mixed-use building went up in flames, sparking a major emergency response and causing chaos for local travel.

Emergency Teams Rush to Scene

The London Fire Brigade received 34 emergency calls starting at 4:38pm on Friday, 18 July. Flames and thick smoke were reported pouring from the property at Richmond Road, TW1. Crews from stations including Twickenham, Chiswick, Acton, and nearby areas were quickly dispatched. A 32-metre turntable ladder from Clapham was used as a water tower to tackle the fire from above.

Roof and Multiple Floors Ravaged

Firefighters confirmed severe damage to the building’s roof and second floor. Parts of the first floor and ground floor were also badly affected. The extent of the destruction has left the building badly compromised, adding to the disruption in the area.
