Huge Blaze Erupts at Streatham Home – Seven Escape Unharmed
Massive Fire Hits Woodbourne Avenue
A huge fire broke out yesterday afternoon at a residential property on Woodbourne Avenue, Streatham. The blaze sparked a major emergency response from the London Fire Brigade.
Firefighters Race to the Scene
At 4:39pm on 14 May, ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters from nearby stations including Tooting, Norbury, and West Norwood were scrambled to tackle the flames. The fire had engulfed the loft area of the house, but thankfully, all seven residents had already evacuated safely before crews arrived. No injuries have been reported.
High-Tech Tactics Bring Fire Under Control
Brave firefighters deployed a 32-metre turntable ladder as a water tower to douse the flames from above. Their swift action contained the inferno by 7:31pm, roughly three hours after the initial emergency call.
Investigation Underway
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
“Crews worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading further. We’re grateful that all residents got out safely.”
