Massive Fire Erupts at Poplar High-Rise
A huge fire has broken out at a 19-storey block of flats on Fairmont Avenue, Poplar. Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters have been scrambled to the scene.
Flames Rage on Multiple Floors
The blaze is burning across parts of the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors. Firefighters are working flat out to contain the inferno in the towering block.
Emergency Response in Full Force
- London Fire Brigade received 13 emergency calls reporting the fire.
- Call came in at 8.55am this morning.
- Crews from Poplar, Millwall, Shadwell, Plaistow, Whitechapel and nearby stations are battling the blaze.
- The brigade has declared the situation a major incident.
Residents and commuters are urged to avoid the area as firefighters continue to tackle the serious blaze.
