Massive Search Underway for Missing Diver off Hastings Coast
A huge search operation has been launched in the English Channel near Hastings, East Sussex, after a diver went missing early Saturday afternoon. Rescue teams, including the Coastguard and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), are on high alert.
Coastguard Helicopter and Lifeboats Scramble to Scene
The alarm was raised around 1:25 PM, triggering a swift emergency response. The Coastguard helicopter from Lydd was spotted circling near a vessel connected to the diving expedition. Meanwhile, Dungeness RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat is combing the waters alongside other rescue units.

“A search for a missing diver, involving the RNLI, Coastguard helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft, plus vessels, is ongoing off Hastings,” confirmed an HM Coastguard spokesperson.
The search is concentrated just a few miles off the Hastings coast, where the diver was last seen. Air and sea units are scouring the area, hoping for a breakthrough.
