Deadly Fire Breaks Out on Elgin Close

A devastating fire ripped through a residential care home flat in Shepherds Bush yesterday, killing one man and injuring two others.

The blaze erupted at around 2:45pm in a first-floor flat on Elgin Close. Firefighters from Hammersmith, Chiswick, and Kensington rushed to the scene with four engines and 25 crew members.

Man Dies, Two Hurt in Flames

Half of the flat was gutted by flames. Rescue teams found a man inside, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other residents were treated by London Ambulance crews before being taken to hospital.

Firefighters Battle for Two Hours

The London Fire Brigade received 11 emergency calls about the blaze. Firefighters fought the inferno for two hours, finally bringing it under control by 4:45pm.

Investigation Underway as Tribute Paid

Fire chiefs have launched a probe into the cause of the blaze. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said, “Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragic incident.”
