A manhunt is underway in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, after a red Vauxhall Astra mounted the pavement and struck multiple pedestrians in the town centre around 1am. Emergency services rushed to the scene where the vehicle was abandoned, and one man suffered life-threatening injuries. Nottinghamshire Police have identified a suspect, described as a white man, who fled on foot. A major police cordon remains in place as officers search the area.
Suspect Flees Scene
Police confirmed the suspect ran away from the scene on foot following the incident. Authorities maintain a large cordon in the town centre and are urging motorists to avoid the area while the search continues.
Police Appeal For Information
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow said, “There is no indication at this stage of any ongoing threat to the wider public. Officers are carrying out further inquiries and speaking with local residents.” She also appealed for anyone with dashcam, CCTV, doorbell, or mobile footage to contact Nottinghamshire Police immediately.

Local MP Michael Payne has been in close contact with police throughout the morning and expects the significant cordon to remain into the day. He urged residents not to speculate and assured the community that he is working closely with officers to maintain safety in Arnold.
