Harvester in Littlehampton Ravaged by Early Morning Blaze

A fierce fire tore through the Harvester restaurant on Coastguard Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex, this morning. The inferno started in the kitchen before spreading rapidly to the roof, causing widespread damage and chaos.

Massive Firefighting Effort Underway

The blaze was first reported at 8:51 am, prompting an urgent response from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. Ten fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were scrambled to battle the flames. Nearby roads have been shut and a huge plume of smoke is visible across the area.

No Injuries But Cause Unknown

Thankfully, everyone inside the restaurant escaped unscathed and all staff and customers have been accounted for. The cause of the kitchen fire remains unclear, with investigators working hard to pinpoint how the flames started.

Residents Urged to Stay Safe

Emergency services have warned locals close to the scene to keep windows and doors closed to avoid smoke inhalation. The public is advised to stay away from Coastguard Road and the seafront so firefighters can carry out their work unhindered.

The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and local authorities continue to manage the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
