Motorbike Rider Faces Life-Changing Injuries in Wood Green Crash

A motorcyclist may lose his leg after a serious smash on High Road, Wood Green late Friday night. The collision happened around 9.55pm on 11 April at the junction of Lyndhurst Road, involving a bike and another vehicle.

Paramedics and police rushed the rider to hospital in critical condition. Doctors have warned the injuries are so severe, amputation is possible.

Major Chaos on High Road: Full Road Closure and Bus Disruptions

High Road in Wood Green is shut both ways at Lyndhurst Road while emergency crews deal with the aftermath. Transport for London (TfL) has rolled out major diversions that hit several bus routes:

  • 121, 329, N29: Rerouted via Bounds Green Road, Brownlow Road, A406 and Green Lanes.
  • 141: Service cut short, ending at Wood Green Bus Garage.
  • 232: Diverted both ways via Bounds Green Road, Brownlow Road, and A406.

Commuters should brace for delays through Saturday morning and check travel updates before heading out.

Police Launch Probe, Hunt Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

The Metropolitan Police have opened a formal investigation into the smash. Officers are calling on anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.

“This was a serious collision that has left a man facing life-changing injuries. We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen what happened or has relevant footage,” a Met Police source said.
