Stargazers across the UK were left gobsmacked last night after spotting a strange and dazzling light show in the sky. The glowing spectacle, visible for up to ten minutes, appeared just after 7:50 PM and vanished without a trace. Eyewitnesses rushed to snap photos and share videos, sparking a social media frenzy.

One of the standout shots was taken at 8:01 PM by Kirsty Jones and Neil Stewart from Montgomery, Wales. The bright, shifting lights had many guessing everything from satellites to extraterrestrials. Neil said, “It was like something from a sci-fi film. We just happened to look up and there it was, glowing and shifting. We watched it for around 10 minutes. It was beautiful and eerie at the same time.”
Kirsty added, “I’ve never seen anything like it. We thought it might be a satellite at first, but it was too bright and moving oddly.”
Experts Point to SpaceX Rocket Fuel
Experts, however, think they’ve cracked the mystery. The spectacle is most likely caused by excess fuel venting from a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. This happens when rockets release fuel at high altitudes, catching the sun’s rays and creating glowing trails across the sky—often mistaken for UFOs.
Astrophysicist Dr. Lena Patel explained: “What people likely witnessed was vented fuel in the upper atmosphere. At over 100 km altitude, sunlight illuminates particles, creating an otherworldly glow visible for hundreds of miles.”
