Nine People arrested for Immigration Offences after Police stop vehicle
Nine people were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences from an address in Leatherhead last night (15 October). Officers on routine patrol stopped a car in Dilston Road around 11.40pm. Following further enquiries, they established that a number of occupants in the car were in the UK illegally. This led to a further search at a residential address in Cleeve Road, where a number of other men were also arrested on suspicion of immigration offences. The men, who are aged between 45 and 53 years, are currently in custody. Police are working closely with our colleagues from the UK Border Agency and enquiries remain ongoing. Local residents should not be unduly concerned if they noticed extra police activity in the area at the time.
