Horrific Crash on M25 Leaves Two Dead After High-Speed Pursuit
A fatal smash erupted on the M25 between junctions 22 (London Colney) and 21A (North Orbital Road/St Albans) at around 4am. Four vehicles slammed into each other, including a white Citroen Dispatch van, a silver DFSK 580 Glory, a silver Skoda Superb, and a black Peugeot 5008.
Two Dead, Man Arrested After Van Pursuit
Tragically, two people died in the collision. Officers trained in family support are helping the bereaved relatives.
A man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police had been chasing the Citroen van moments before the crash. The high-speed pursuit was called off due to the risk it posed to public safety.
The incident was immediately handed over to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. Essex Police have launched a full criminal investigation into the crash.

Detective Inspector Mark Fraser said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of those who lost their lives in this collision. I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.”
