The culprit struck at the Mother Shipton pub on Thursday 17 September around 4.45pm. He ordered two beers and paid with a Scottish £50 note — but it was a fake.

Witnesses saw him jump into a silver saloon, possibly a Vauxhall Astra, with a woman before driving off.
