Met Police Smash Illegal Car Meet in Rainham

Traffic cops from the Met have cracked down on a rogue car meet in Rainham, Havering. They teamed up with local officers to shut down the event on Ferry Lane last Saturday night.

Fifty Drivers Slapped with Fines

More than 50 drivers, dubbed “Covidiots,” were hit with fixed penalty notices. The crackdown came after members of the public tipped off police about the meet’s location.

Not an Essential Journey, Say Officers

“This is not an essential journey! Over 50 FPNs have been issued and further intelligence submitted,” said one satisfied officer.

The Met remains vigilant, ready to stamp out illegal gatherings during ongoing Covid restrictions.
