Shock and Sorrow After Bright Young Star Oli Williams Dies in Crash

Tragedy struck on the A34, East Ilsley, when Oliver “Oli” Williams lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on October 2. Just 27, Oli was a beacon of joy and warmth to everyone who knew him.

Family and Friends Pay Heartfelt Tribute to Oli’s Sparkling Spirit

Oli’s family remembers him as a bright, caring son, brother, and grandson. “He was a shining light for all who knew him,” they say. Loved for his infectious joy and charismatic nature, Oli supported his loved ones unwaveringly. He stood firmly against prejudice and worked tirelessly to make sure everyone felt included and valued.

“The outpouring of love and memories shows just how much he touched so many lives,” the family added.

From Cambridge Graduate to World Traveller and Theatre Buff

Oli’s achievements were no less impressive. A Computer Science graduate from Jesus College, Cambridge (Class of 2014), he led an exciting and diverse life. After university, he spent time in Japan teaching English to local children and mastered multiple languages including French, Spanish, and Japanese.

Passionate about acting, music, and theatre, Oli was a shining star on stage and a devoted patron of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He often bought tickets to watch plays with his family and friends, sharing his love of the arts wherever he went.

Beloved Lead Software Engineer and Theatre Enthusiast Taken Too Soon

At work, Oli was a respected lead software engineer at a video game company, proud of his role and passionate about his craft. Outside the office, his talents as a singer and actor made him a true showman and beloved mascot of the Stratford office.

Just a day before the accident, Oli had made an offer on his first home—a promising future cruelly cut short.

“We miss our bright shining star more than words can say. Oli was super friendly, enthusiastic, a true joy to be around, and a loving son and brother. Our hearts are shattered.”

The family is struggling to come to terms with their devastating loss, but Oli’s memory and spirit continue to inspire all who knew him.
