Pedestrian Hit by Police Car Outside Clapham North Tube
Drama on Sunday morning as a 50-year-old man was struck by a police vehicle responding to an emergency call in South London’s Clapham.
Emergency Response at 7am Crash
The collision happened just after 7:00 am near the entrance to Clapham North Tube station on Clapham Road. Three police cars were rushing to an incident when one hit the pedestrian outside Dentons Catering Equipment.
London Ambulance Service and other emergency teams raced to the scene. Paramedics treated the man on site before rushing him to a major trauma centre for further care.

Social media clips show frantic responders tending to the victim while concerned passersby look on. One witness said emergency crews worked quickly to stabilise the man on the road.
Police Confirm Investigation Underway
“We were called at 7:02 this morning to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian near Clapham North Station,” a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said. “We sent multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and an advanced paramedic. We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre.”
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Officers from the Directorate of Professional Standards have been notified, and the investigation is ongoing. More updates on the man’s condition and the crash circumstances are expected soon.
