Pensioner in Collision with Bus in Freshwater

A Pensioner has been rushed to  hospital after being hit by a bus in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. It happened at  just 9.20am this morning (Tuesday) on the Afton Road near to  the Esso Garage. The collision involved a Southern Vectis  Bus and a pedal cyclist, that  collided as the bus turned right into the road. Emergency services rushed the scene to  help the injured  man. Witnesses said that the man  was strapped to a  spinal  board  before being taken away by ambulance. The cyclist, a Pensioner  suffered injuries and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport  for treatment.
