Police appeal following Hit and Run in Knaphill Woking

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fail to stop collision in Knaphill earlier this evening (19 October). Officers were called to Inkerman Road in Knaphill around 6.40pm following reports of a two car collision between a black Subaru and a white Mazda outside Wickes DIY store. The occupants of the Subaru made off following the crash. Two of the occupants were arrested nearby shortly afterwards on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. It is believed that there was at least one another occupant in the vehicle and the search remains ongoing in the area. The driver of the Mazda suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. Temporary Sergeant Richard Griffin, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are appealing to anyone who saw the Subaru being driven dangerously prior to the collision. Fortunately the driver of the other vehicle involved only suffered minor injuries, but this could have been far more serious. “There has been a lot of police activity in the area tonight and we would like to reassure local residents that we are doing all we can to track down the outstanding occupants and ensure that they are brought to justice.” If you can help, please contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting incident reference number P17264662.
