Police Launch Air and Ground Search for Missing Gosport Granny

Emergency teams are pulling out all the stops to find Joyce Crouthers, 78, who vanished from her Gosport home over 24 hours ago. Police have deployed a national air support helicopter and teamed up with Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) in a desperate hunt for the missing pensioner.

Last Seen Leaving Home

Joyce was last spotted at 4:50pm on Wednesday at her house on Honeysuckle Close. Since then, she has not been seen or heard from. Her family are growing deeply worried as Joyce left without her medication and may be confused, possibly unaware of where she is.

Search Efforts Step Up

  • Joyce is described as white, 5 ft 6 in tall, with a large build and very short brown hair.
  • She was likely wearing dark clothes and carrying a small dark handbag.
  • A police helicopter from National Air Support Services has scoured wooded areas around Gosport and Fareham using thermal imaging cameras.
  • Meanwhile, HANTSAR volunteers have been combing a nearby golf course in Lee on the Solent.
