Five Drug Raids Rock Basingstoke in Major Police Blitz

Hampshire Constabulary launched a fierce crackdown on drugs in Basingstoke yesterday (Monday, August 1). Officers swooped on five addresses as part of Operation Fortress, the force’s campaign to stamp out drugs, drug-related violence, and protect vulnerable people from criminal gangs.

Five Addresses Targeted in Blitz

  • Beethoven Road
  • Goat Lane
  • St Michael’s Road
  • Warton Road
  • Woolford Way

Police uncovered suspected Class A and Class B drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia across the locations. The raid at Warton Road led to the arrest of two young men, aged 18 and 19, both suspected of conspiring to supply Class A drugs. They remain in police custody.

Police Hit Back Against Drug Crime

“Drug-related activity will not be tolerated in Basingstoke,” said Inspector Ben Taylor of the Basingstoke Neighbourhood Policing Team.

“The role of the community in tackling this type of crime is vital – if we don’t know about it, we can’t act on it.
