When Ben Jackson’s mum, Lisa, revealed on Facebook that nobody showed up to his last birthday party, she hoped for a little kindness this year. Ben, a young lad with high-functioning autism from Hampshire, deserved to feel special on his big day. Sharing a heartfelt plea, Lisa asked the community to send birthday cards to Ben’s home.
Officers Deliver More Than Just Good Wishes
The post caught the attention of Hampshire Constabulary. Police Sergeant Roger Loxton-Gear and his team didn’t just send a card—they showed up in person with gifts. The officers brought Ben a card and a present that brightened his day.
Police Cars, Uniforms, and Smiles All Round
But the surprises didn’t stop there. PC Amy Bianchini from the Fratton and Baffins Neighbourhood Policing Team rolled up with a police car and uniforms for Ben and his friend to try on. Moments later, another police vehicle arrived from Cosham.
Ben loved the visit so much he cheekily asked if he could “rob a bank” — instead, he spent his time playing in the police cars and even handcuffed a few officers!
