Teen Stabbed to Death Near Popular Pub in Old Leigh
18-Year-Old Dies After Alleyway Attack
An 18-year-old was fatally stabbed in an alleyway close to The Peterboat pub on High Street, Old Leigh. He later died in hospital from a single wound to the heart.
17-Year-Old Arrested Over Murder
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, 1 March. After questioning, he was released on conditional bail until 26 March while police continue their investigation.
Meanwhile, three others held on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released under investigation.
Police Urge Public Not to Take Matters Into Their Own Hands
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Egerton said: “We’re progressing our enquiries into the circumstances behind Luke’s death and ask anyone not to take matters into their own hands, but to let us investigate.
“Officers are carrying out extra patrols to keep the community safe and to catch anyone intent on crime. I’d like to thank the community for their support during our investigation.”
