Suspicious Package Sparks Evacuation Drama in Nottinghamshire
A tense cordon was in place for hours today, 7 April, after police received a tip-off about a suspicious package inside a residential home.
All Clear After Thorough Search
Officers carried out an extensive sweep of the property but found no sign of any dangerous package. The area has since been declared safe.
Neighbours Temporarily Evacuated as Precaution
Safety protocols saw nearby residents evacuated while the search was underway. Roads were closed off to secure the scene.
Now, all restrictions have been lifted, residents have been allowed back into their homes, and roads reopened.
Police Praise Public and Emergency Services
Chief Inspector Amy Styles-Jones of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We’re pleased to say this incident has now been safely concluded and people can return to their homes.”
She added: “Keeping people safe was our top priority, which is why we took this report so seriously.”
“We thank the public for their patience and understanding, and salute all officers and emergency services involved in the response.”
