Detectives probe suspicious death at Hayling Island restaurant

Police are investigating after a man’s mysterious death at the Gandhi Restaurant on South Hayling in the early hours of Saturday, November 4.

Ambulance crews rushed to the Gandhi Restaurant on Hollow Lane around 1am. A 65-year-old man was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham but tragically died just before 10am.

Three men arrested on suspicion of murder

Three men aged 32, 34, and 37 have been arrested over the incident. The restaurant remains sealed off under police guard, leaving diners unaware of the drama unfolding less than 24 hours earlier.

Police urge witnesses to come forward

A police cordon is still in place around the restaurant. Officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact the Major Crime Department at Fratton Police Station on 101, or anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Crucially, anyone who dined at the Gandhi Restaurant on the evening of Friday, November 3, is asked to get in touch. Police believe these witnesses could hold vital clues to the investigation.
