Police have released an image of a man they want to identify after a woman was raped by a stranger in a daylight attack in Stoke-on-Trent.
The woman was approached by an unknown man near Bucknall Old Road in Hanley before being taken into an alleyway and raped.
The attack happened at around 1pm on May 11, 2026.
Detectives release image in identification appeal
Staffordshire Police detectives have carried out a number of enquiries as part of the investigation and have now appealed directly to the public for help identifying a man they want to speak to.
Officers are also asking anyone who may have seen the man in the Bucknall Old Road or wider Hanley area around the time of the attack to come forward.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured, or has information which could assist detectives, should contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 457 of May 11.
The investigation remains ongoing.
