Unidentified Body Found on Brighton Beach: Police Issue Tattoo Appeal

Sussex Police are desperate for help identifying a young woman whose body was found washed up on Saltdean beach near Brighton back on December 20th.

Body Found at Water’s Edge

A member of the public spotted the woman’s body lying by the water and called the authorities. Despite a lengthy investigation, police have yet to confirm who she is.

Distinctive Tattoos Could Hold Key

The force has now released photos of several tattoos on the woman’s arms and legs, hoping someone recognises them and comes forward.

Who Was She?

  • White female, aged 20-25
  • Approximate height: 5’4”
  • Slim to medium build
  • Clothing: Purple sports bra, dark mauve leggings, black Converse boots with original white trim

Police Theory on How She Was Found

Authorities believe she’d been in the water less than 24 hours before being found. Experts think she entered the sea further west and was carried east to Saltdean by the tide.

Can you help? If you recognise the tattoos or have any info, call Sussex Police on 101 or submit details online, quoting reference 598 of 20/12.
