Power Cut Hits Ryde’s Oakfield Estate

Thousands in Ryde, Isle of Wight, were plunged into darkness tonight (Sunday, March 17th) as a power cut struck the Oakfield estate. A low voltage fault has left homes without electricity, disrupting life across five postcode areas.

SSE Scrambles to Restore Power

An SSE spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault.” Engineers are on site working flat out to fix the problem and aim to restore power by 9pm tonight.
