Police Probe After Stranger Approaches Schoolboy in Southampton
Extra police patrols have been launched in Shirley, Southampton, after a 12-year-old boy was approached by a suspicious man last Wednesday afternoon.

Between 4pm and 4:30pm on May 22, the boy was walking along St Edmund’s Road when a dark-skinned man in a dark car with tinted windows spoke to him briefly. The boy ran off unharmed.
Police Step Up Patrols and Talks with Schools
- Neighbourhood officers are intensifying patrols in the area.
- They have been engaging with parents and staff at local schools to raise awareness.
- No other suspicious reports have been made in the vicinity.
Detective Urges Public to Come Forward
“This is a rare occurrence and our officers have been speaking to people in the local area to gather information and provide reassurance,” said Detective Sergeant Will Whale.
