QEII Bridge Shut After Man’s Welfare Sparks Emergency Drama
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The iconic QEII Bridge was shut last night after concerns for a man’s welfare sparked a rapid emergency response. Police scrambled to the bridge around 8:30pm on June 25th following reports about the individual’s distress.
Essex Police teamed up with the Highways Agency and ambulance crews to handle the tense situation safely and swiftly.
Bridge Closed to Traffic Amid Safety Fears
Traffic came to a halt as the bridge was temporarily closed to allow emergency workers to engage with the man. The closure caused some delays, but kept everyone safe while the crisis was managed.
Man Rescued and Taken to Hospital
By 8:55pm, officers had brought the man to safety. He was handed over to paramedics for care and hospital evaluation.
“We’d like to thank the public for their patience during this incident,” an Essex Police spokesperson said. “Our priority was the man’s safety, and thanks to a coordinated effort, he was safely removed from the bridge.”
