Firefighters blaze through suspected Rainham cannabis factory!
Huge fire tears through industrial unit
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters raced to tackle a major blaze at an industrial estate on Marsh Way, Rainham, this morning. The fire ripped through the entire first floor of a two-storey unit, completely destroying it. Flames also damaged part of the roof.
Thick smoke causes local alert
Station Commander Alan Bendell, who was at the scene, warned: “There’s a lot of heavy smoke in the local area so residents living nearby were advised to shut doors and windows this morning.”
Rapid response to early morning blaze
Fire crews were called out at 8.21am after the alarm was raised. The brigade’s swift response kept the blaze under control, though the suspected cannabis factory suffered heavy damage.
