Five Injured as Horror Crash Shuts Rush Green Road in Romford
Emergency Chaos at Rush Green Road
Paramedics and police raced to a serious smash at the junction of Rush Green Road and Leonard Avenue in Romford this morning. The crash, which happened around 10.50am on 27 August, left three children and two adults injured. All five were treated at the roadside before being rushed to hospital. One child was prioritised for urgent care, but their conditions remain unconfirmed.
London Ambulance Service Responds
“We were called at 10.50am today (27 August) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Rush Green Road and Leonard Avenue, Romford. We sent ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. Two adults and three children were treated before hospital transfer. One child was taken as a priority,” a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said.
Road Closures Hit Rush Green
Rush Green Road remains closed both ways as emergency crews work at the scene. Transport for London has confirmed major disruption, with bus routes 5, 103, 128, 175, and 499 all diverted. Commuters are warned to expect delays and check TfL updates.
Police Investigate Cause
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation but have yet to disclose how many vehicles were involved or the cause of the crash. Updates will follow as inquiries continue.
