Police Hunt Intensifies for Missing 68-Year-Old Brigid in Eastbourne

Last Seen Strolling Promenade in Red Coat

Authorities are desperate to find Brigid, 68, who vanished 11 days ago. She was last spotted at 9:52 a.m. on January 6, walking along Eastbourne’s promenade near the Beach Deck. CCTV caught her passing other walkers, including one with a large yellow dog. Witnesses say Brigid may have briefly chatted with someone during her walk.

She wore a striking red duffle-style coat with the hood up, blue jeans, and blue trainers. Brigid is slim, with greying blonde hair and blue eyes — a look that sticks in the memory.

Massive Search Underway as Police Work Round the Clock

Since Brigid’s disappearance, Sussex Police have mounted a huge operation, with officers combing Eastbourne using house-to-house checks and special search teams. The case is top priority, with detectives chasing every lead.

“Brigid’s red coat is very distinctive and may jog someone’s memory. We especially want to hear from anyone walking the promenade that morning,” said Detective Inspector Pippa Nicklin, who thanked the public for their ongoing help.

Family Plea and Public Support

Brigid’s family is beside themselves and working closely with police. They have made a heartfelt appeal for anyone with information to come forward and bring their loved one home.

Officers continue to provide regular updates and emotional support to keep the search moving.
