The A20 eastbound is shut between the B2011 (Courtwood) and the A256 (Dover) after a serious incident hit the route at around 7.43am this morning. Kent Police are leading a multi-agency response, with National Highways on hand to manage the traffic chaos.
Road Closure to Last for Hours – Diversions in Place
The eastbound carriageway closure will last for several hours while emergency services work on scene. Drivers caught up in the jam will be released from the back of the queue as soon as it’s safe. Officers will guide motorists when to turn.
Follow the Hollow Black Circle for Diversions:
- Exit the A20 at Courtwood interchange.
- Take eastbound B2011 towards Dover.
- Continue on B2011 to Priory Road roundabout, Dover.
- Exit onto 1 Street and rejoin A20 at Townwall Street.
Motorists are urged to allow extra journey time, consider alternative routes, or delay travel where possible due to expected delays.
