Japanese Navy in Shock After Deadly Helicopter Crash
Tragedy hit the Japanese navy when two SH-60K helicopters collided and plunged into the Pacific Ocean during a nighttime training flight south of Tokyo. Each chopper carried four crew members. The crash has claimed one life, while seven others remain missing.
Massive Search and Rescue Operation Underway
Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) and Air Self-Defense Force are racing against time. They’ve deployed 12 warships and seven aircraft to scour the waters. The Japan Coast Guard has also joined the desperate hunt for the missing crew.

Admiral Ryo Sakai, leading the navy’s 123-unit, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and vowed to investigate thoroughly. “We are committed to uncovering the cause and implementing all necessary safety measures to prevent a repeat,” he said.
