Serious Crash in South Croydon Sends One to Major Trauma Centre
A person has been rushed to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in South Croydon.
Emergency Chaos on South End
Emergency services were scrambled to South End, near Brighton Road, just after 4pm on Saturday 16 August. The smash caused both directions of the road to close, sparking major delays across the area.
Air Ambulance and Paramedics Rush to Scene
“We were called at 16:07 yesterday to reports of a road traffic collision on South End, Croydon.
We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an Advanced Paramedic, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
Our crews treated a person at the scene, before taking them to a London major trauma centre.”
Police Investigate; Bus Routes Diverted
The Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene and have set up a cordon while enquiries continue into the collision.
Multiple bus routes, including numbers 60, 119, 166, 312, 403, 405, 407, 412, 466, and 468, were forced to divert due to the road closure.
The road remained shut until 4am on Sunday 17 August. Authorities have not yet disclosed the condition of the injured party.
