Detectives from Merseyside Police have charged a 15-year-old boy from Rochdale with multiple offences related to the sale of weapons online. The charges include:
1. Offering for Sale/Hire Offensive Weapons
2. Publishing Material Suggesting Knife Suitability for Combat
3. Manufacture, Sale, or Hire of Flick or Gravity Knives
The teenager appeared at the Merseyside Youth Remand Court today.
Superintendent Phil Mullally, who leads the Serious Violence and Knife Crime unit, underscored the devastating impact of knives on communities. He stated that proactive efforts are underway to remove weapons from the streets, including online platforms where knives are being sold.
Mullally urged members of the public to come forward with information about weapon sales, storage, or possession. Their assistance is crucial for ensuring the safety of families and residents.
