Johnny Depp Cuddles Badger During Wildlife Rescue Visit
Johnny Depp was spotted getting up close and personal with a badger during a surprise visit to Folly Wildlife Rescue in Tunbridge Wells. The actor toured the centre’s care and veterinary units and quickly made friends with Freddie, one of the rescued badgers.
“Johnny was really nice and, in his own words, ‘blown away’ by what he witnessed,” the centre shared on Facebook.

The highlight? Depp was given the rare honour of holding Freddie – named after Freddie Mercury – one of the many orphaned badger cubs currently hand-parented at the rescue. The actor was reportedly “bowled over” by the experience.

Depp, a keen guitarist, was welcomed to the rescue centre by none other than legendary musician Jeff Beck, who sponsors Folly. Beck, famous for hits like “Hi Ho Silver Lining” and past Yardbirds star, is currently on a UK tour with Depp by his side.
Depp, 58, who recently won a high-profile defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, has rocked the stage alongside Beck before, including shows in Sheffield and at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The pair collaborated on the 2020 single “Isolation.”
Fans can catch Depp joining Beck for upcoming gigs in Gateshead, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and York.
