Blaze Hits West Brompton Home: Firefighters Battle Basement Inferno

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters raced to tackle a fierce blaze on Finborough Road, West Brompton, yesterday evening (20 March).

Basement and Ground Floor Damaged

The fire ravaged half the basement and a small part of the ground floor in a mid-terraced house. Smoke inhalation forced a female victim to be rescued by crews decked out in breathing apparatus. She received treatment on scene from London Ambulance Service.

Multiple Evacuations and Hospitalisations

  • Before firefighters arrived, one man left the property and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
  • Three women evacuated safely before the Brigade’s arrival.

Fire Brigade Quick to Respond

The London Fire Brigade was called at 9.54pm. Firefighters from Chelsea, Kensington, Battersea, and Hammersmith battled the flames until putting them out by 11.38pm.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
