Blaze Erupts in Bromley Clock Tower – Firefighters Rush to Scene

Last night, flames tore through half of a clock tower on Ravensbourne Road, Bromley. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters scrambled to tackle the blaze.

Firefighters Battle Tower Inferno

The fire broke out on the sixth floor of a mixed-use building. Residents from nearby flats spotted the smoke and alerted the emergency services. London’s Fire Brigade control officers received 35 calls reporting the fire.

Firefighters from Bromley, Beckenham, Lee Green, and Lewisham rushed to the scene, arriving shortly after the initial call at 8.38 p.m. The fire was brought under control by 10.05 p.m.

Faulty Light Fitting Blamed for Fire

Preliminary investigations suggest the blaze was sparked by a faulty light fitting meant to illuminate the clock face at night. Luckily, no injuries were reported during the incident.
