Met Police Gear Up for King’s Coronation with Massive Security Operation

123 Officers Deployed for Historic Day

The Met is proud to back the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort as London prepares to host this unforgettable event. Police say it’s a privilege to help Londoners and hundreds of thousands of visitors enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime national moment.

A whopping 123 officers will be deployed throughout the week leading up to Coronation Day and across the Bank Holiday weekend.

Months of Planning and High-Tech Security

The Met has spent months preparing, working closely with British Transport and other partners. As part of their security measures, the force plans to use facial recognition technology in central London areas and engage directly with local residents.

Keeping London Safe, No Matter What

While the focus is on celebrations, the Met has a solid plan to handle everyday incidents across the capital. This ensures the city stays safe throughout this internationally significant event.

Met Pledges to Protect and Serve

“We have been planning for this occasion for some time; the Met has a long history of policing such events. We will use officers and specialist units to keep people safe and deal with any issues thrown our way,” the Met said.

“London is one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world. Throughout the celebrations, we will stay at the heart of the communities we serve. Our officers are here to help – if you see something suspicious, speak to us.”
