Early Morning Fire Sparks Major Response
Six fire engines and 30 firefighters rushed to a blaze at a high-rise in Canning Town after a match was discarded on a balcony in the early hours of Monday morning. The fire took hold on the 3rd floor of the cladding-covered building near Rathbone Market.
Road Closures & High-Tech Tactics
Barking Road remains closed in both directions while crews battle the flames. A specialist aerial ladder was deployed to help tackle the fire, which broke out just after 2am. Firefighters used two hose reels and a jet to extinguish the blaze and a thermal imaging camera to hunt for hidden hot spots behind the cladding.
