Thirty Firefighters Battle Blaze in Portsmouth Terrace
A fierce fire tore through a terraced house in Hilsea, Portsmouth, forcing 30 firefighters into action from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester, Havant, and St Mary’s stations.
Fire Spreads Through Roof, Damages Eight Homes
The blaze rapidly spread internally, seriously damaging three properties. Smoke and flames then burst through the roof space, wreaking havoc on a total of eight homes.
No Injuries, But Beloved Pet Hurt
Miraculously, no one was hurt and all residents were accounted for. Sadly, one resident’s West Highland Terrier suffered burns and was treated by an animal rescue specialist before being handed to a vet for further care.
Firefighters Fight Fire with Full Arsenal
Crews battled the inferno using 12 breathing apparatus sets, three jets, six hose reels, and an aerial ladder platform from St Mary’s to attack the roof blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
