Chaos hit Horseferry Road this afternoon as police sealed off part of London’s transport HQ over a suspicious package scare.

Staff Raise Alarm

Officers raced to Transport offices after staff raised the alarm about a suspicious item inside the building. The area around B323 Horseferry Road at the Marsham Street junction was quickly shut down, with local bus routes swiftly diverted.

Specialist Team Declares All Clear

By 2.16pm, specialist police had examined the package and confirmed it posed no threat. The security cordons are now being lifted and normal service should soon resume.
