Blaze Destroys Roof of Edgware Home
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters raced to tackle a fierce fire at a house on Glendale Avenue, Edgware. The flames gutted the entire roof of the two-storey semi-detached property and badly damaged most of the first floor.
Residents Escape Unharmed
Two people managed to flee the house before the fire brigade arrived. Remarkably, no injuries were reported. Station Manager Jon Holt praised the crew, saying, “Crews worked extremely hard to stop the fire spreading and contain it to the roof of the property.”
Fire Under Control in Just Over an Hour
The brigade was called to the scene at 8.40pm on Monday and had the blaze under control by just after 10pm. Teams from Mill Hill, Harrow, Hendon, Barnet, and nearby stations joined the firefight.
