Two Met Police Officers Hurt in Morning Crash in South London

Crash Shakes Mitcham at Rush Hour

Two Metropolitan Police officers remain in hospital after their marked police car smashed into another vehicle in south London this morning.

The collision happened around 8:13am on Monday, 18 August, on Western Road, Mitcham. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the crash.

Officers Injured but Expected to Recover

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed both officers were hurt and taken to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

“Two officers remain in hospital following a road traffic collision in Western Road, Mitcham at 08:13hrs on Monday, 18 August. Their injuries are confirmed to be non-life-changing. The marked police vehicle collided with another car. The owner of this vehicle was not hurt.”

Investigation Underway, No Arrests

The other driver escaped unharmed. No arrests have been made, and police continue to investigate the crash details.
