Police Probe Launched After Man Hurt in Haringey Incident
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has kicked off an independent investigation into a serious injury case in Haringey on May 4. The incident left a man with significant injuries, prompting immediate police scrutiny.
Met Police Back Investigation Fully
The Metropolitan Police have thrown their full support behind the IOPC probe. Detective Chief Superintendent Treena Fleming, Commander of the Met’s North Area Command Unit, stressed their commitment to uncovering the truth.
“My thoughts and well wishes are with the injured man and his family. I have spoken with them personally and assured them of my full support for the investigation,” said Fleming.
She added, “All officers know they must answer for their actions — no one is above the law. Three officers are now under investigation and have been placed on local restrictions.”
Community Urged to Stay Patient
Fleming acknowledged the community’s concerns but urged calm and patience while the probe unfolds.
“This is a very sad incident that will stir strong emotions locally. We ask everyone to let the independent investigation run its course so the full facts can come to light,” she said.
The senior leadership team is also actively engaging with community partners, key stakeholders, and local authorities to listen and respond to concerns.
