Teen Thugs Smash Windscreen with Stones from M3 Bridge
A car was left with a shattered windscreen after a gang of teenagers hurled stones from the Windmill Road Bridge over the M3 near Sunbury on Friday morning.
The reckless youths targeted traffic heading towards London at around 8.30am, dangerously chucking rocks at speeding vehicles below. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the incident has sparked warnings for parents to keep tabs on their kids.
Police Sound Alarm Over Deadly Bridge Stone Throwing
Chief Inspector Michael Hodder from Surrey’s Roads Policing Unit said: “It is really worrying that some people think it is acceptable to throw anything off a motorway bridge. This is an extremely dangerous thing to do.”
He urged parents to remind their children of the grave risks: “This type of incident can, and has, ended in tragedy. We cannot stress enough how dangerous this is, especially on motorways where vehicles travel at high speeds.”
The police are stepping up measures to catch offenders and prevent future attacks. “We are concerned that someone will be seriously injured and will be taking robust action against anyone caught,” added Hodder.
