A massive fire erupted at a recycling centre on Park Farm Close, Folkestone, late Sunday night. The Kent Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene after the blaze was reported at 10:07pm on June 30.

Firefighters Battle Huge Waste Inferno

Three fire engines tackled the roaring flames engulfing a large pile of waste material. Using powerful main jets and a compressed air foam system (CAFs), crews fought the fire for hours, finally bringing it under control by 1:04am on Monday, July 1.

No Injuries as Fire Cools Down

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Thermal imaging cameras were deployed to hunt down hidden hotspots and stop any flare-ups. The cause remains unknown but is not being treated as suspicious.
