Two Yorkshire Ambulance Medics Die Within Days
Tragic Losses Shake Yorkshire Ambulance Service
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) has been rocked by the deaths of two veteran emergency ambulance medics in just two days. Both heroes had dedicated years to saving lives across Yorkshire, earning deep respect and affection from colleagues and communities alike.
Beloved NHS Medics Pass Away in Hospital
The first, an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician from North Yorkshire, died on Tuesday 28th April. The second, a Specialist Paramedic from West Yorkshire, passed away on Thursday 30th April. Both died in hospital, surrounded by fellow NHS staff. Their families have requested privacy and asked that their names remain confidential.
YAS Chief Pays Tribute
Rod Barnes, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Ambulance Service, expressed his condolences:
“Both colleagues had worked tirelessly for many years serving their local communities, and were married with families. On behalf of everyone at YAS, we would like to offer our deepest sympathies to their families.”
He added, “Many people within the Trust are affected by this very tragic news and we are supporting our staff at this very difficult time. We ask that the wishes of the families for privacy are respected.”
