Serious Crash on A26 Tonbridge Road Shuts Maidstone Route

A young child has been airlifted to a London hospital after a serious car accident on the A26 Tonbridge Road in Maidstone. The road remains closed between the Esso Tesco Express and the Cherry Tree pub as emergency crews tackle the scene.

Three-Year-Old Flown to Major Trauma Centre

Kent Police were called to the scene shortly after noon on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, following a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The injured child, believed to have serious injuries, received immediate medical care before being airlifted by helicopter to a major trauma centre in London.

Air ambulance spokesperson said: “Our crew arrived at 12:30 PM and worked alongside paramedics and Kent Police to provide emergency medical care. The patient was then transported to a major trauma centre by air.”
