Russia’s Bakhmut Bloodbath Hits Military Hard
UK military advisor Ian Stubbs has revealed that Russia’s staggering casualties around Bakhmut are severely draining their troops and ammunition. Nearly 30,000 Russian fighters have been killed or wounded in the grueling nine-month battle, with the Wagner group barely advancing 25km.
Ukraine’s Grit Outshines Russian Blunders
It’s been almost 400 days since Russia launched its brutal invasion of Ukraine. Despite facing a so-called superpower, the Ukrainian people have displayed fierce determination and clever tactics, smashing through Russian lines with help from global allies.
Stubbs slammed Russia’s military leadership as “astoundingly incompetent,” accusing them of spinning wild disinformation to hide their failures on the battlefield.
Russia’s Outdated War Machines on Full Display
Just last February, a Russian official boasted that their “special military operation” proved the high tech performance of their weapons. But the reality is grim: Soviet-era equipment like 60-year-old T-62 tanks and relic MT-LB armoured vehicles, some with ancient naval guns still painted in navy colours, are being hauled into battle. A far cry from the cutting-edge gear they claim.
UK Leads the Charge with Modern Military Aid
Meanwhile, the UK has armed Ukraine with advanced artillery, air defence, and anti-tank weapons. As the first to pledge modern Challenger 2 main battle tanks, Britain has given Ukraine a massive boost—these tanks boast some of the world’s most sophisticated gunnery systems.
Stubbs also condemned Russia’s disruptive tactics at the Forum for Security Cooperation, calling their blocking of sessions and threats toward fellow delegates “deplorable.” The UK vows to uphold European security principles despite Russia’s attempts to sabotage peace and stability.
As Bulgaria takes over chairmanship, the UK looks ahead to continuing the fight for security in Europe alongside new and existing allies.
